Desktop confessional

For some reason, this conversation struck me as funny. There is a bit of background, of course. See, Alan thinks that it's a bad reflection of my moral and intellectual character that I watch Survivor. He also thinks that it's bizarre that I enjoy listening to a movie when I'm working. So, when I mentioned that I was listening to Back to the Future this morning, it apparently made an impression:

Alan says: I didn't want to interrupt Back to the Future today.
Jen says: It's only an hour and a half. I was done in plenty of time to watch the Amazing Race webcast at 1.
Alan says: I don't even know if you are being funny.
Jen says: Not intentionally.

(I just turned on Zoolander. Damn, I could listen to that movie all day.)

Hell, what's wrong with listening to movies? People watch tv at pubs with no sound...food for thought.

And it's not like I'm trying to listen to Citizen Kane or anything. It's Back to the Future, for crying out loud. I can practically recite the thing, I know it so well.

"Gonna go back in time, dun da dun, da dun, da dun dun dun!"

Would you watch Citizen Kane, even though it pre-dates 1982 or whatever your cut off year is?

I love listening to movies at work thanks to you. When you know and love a movie well, you just have to hear it and you can see it all playing in your head. By the way - see my blog for my current top ten list!

I saw Citizen Kane, actually. In film class in Grade 12. And I've seen Doctor Zhivago, when I was living with my great aunt for a while in college. Also, Yellowbeard. And that's about it pre-1992.

I still can't work out if you are being funny.
