So many CDs. . . .

I spent the weekend on a shopping trip in Michigan. I bought a million CDs! (Well, six, actually, but I only had a $200 exemption and I had other things to get too.)

What I bought: Blonde Redhead, Melody of Certain Damaged Lemons and Fake Can Be Just as Good. I've heard the former and loved it, and took advantage of the fact that the store had the latter. It's from '97, so it may sound different than the two I've heard.

Deerhoof, Reveille. I've heard their album Milk Man, and agian, you could have knocked me over with a feather that the store even had the CD. I thought I'd pick it up if even if I'm not sure I'll love it. It's okay so far, but I haven't really listened much yet.

At the first music store, I also found Frou Frou's Details, but it was on sale for $18.99, only $5 cheaper than at home. I passed, then hit Best Buy, where I found it for $12.99! Dreamy. The CD is exactly what I expected from the track Let Go, which was part of the Garden State soundtrack, and I'm looking forward to many delightful hours of listening enjoyment.

I also bought Snow Patrol's Final Straw and The Postal Service's Give Up, mostly because their songs were featured on Veronica Mars. The Postal Service purchase was not at all based on the fact that the guy from Death Cab for Cutie is in the band, because frankly, I can take or leave that band. Sorry, fans of The O.C.

So far, my ranking goes: 1. Frou Frou; 2. Blonde Redhead, Lemons; 3. Postal Service; 4. Snow Patrol; 5. Blonde Redhead, Fake; and 6. Deerhoof.
