Happy fiscal new year

Well, hosers, it was a prefectly wonderful Canada Day. The weather finally broke, I didn't have to go to work, and as of midnight last night I qualified for five weeks vacation. Delightful!

Also satisfying was the CBC's broadcast the "Canada" episode of The Simpsons. It's one of the better ones from recent years, and I watch it every time it airs. So in honour of Canada Day (and my snazzy redesign!), here are my five favourite quotes from "The Bart Wants What It Wants":

Ranier Wolfcastle to a slice of pie: "Remember when I said I would eat you last? I lied."

Lisa: "And where were you?"
Homer: ". . . Cock fight. . . ."

CN Tower guide: "Ah, you'll win her back, eh. And B, we're closing in five minutes."
Homer: "Would an American dollar change your mind?"
CN Tower guide: "American currency! What time would you like your breakfast, sir?" (My, how times have changed!)

Curling announcer: "Both our viewers must be thrilled!"

Principal Skinner: "How come you always run out of tardy slips before you run out of permission slips?"
Nelson: "How come you suck?"
Principal Skinner: "Um . . . I lack confidence."
