Howard Stern announced on Monday that Adam Carolla, co-host of Loveline, is the frontrunner to take over the morning show on Howard's West Coast affiliates. A lot of people seem to think this is bad news, but I can see nothing but good coming from this. Adam has two new TV shows premiering this year (Too Late with Adam Carolla on Comedy Central and The Adam Carolla Project, a home-improvement show, on TLC). He's already freaking out on reporters during the Upfronts; how's he gonna be with stupid white-trach teenage mothers who are hopped up on meth? Dr.Drew's got "It", man, and as long as they go out of their way to find a sharp, witty replacement for Adam (would a chick be too much to ask for?), the show will do fine. And may—dare I say it?—even return to some markets that pulled the show off the air after Adam got onto one of his jags.

Don't get me wrong, I love Adam and will be listening to streams of his new show once it starts, but Loveline will go on without him, and may even kick some ass.

Too Late with Adam Carolla on Comedy Central starting Aug. 8. I wonder how long it will take The Comedy Network to pick it up. Perhaps I should start a little smaller? What's the over-under on this show? Labour Day?

P.S. In my head, his teeth are much less distracting.
